Qatari LNG shipping giant Nakilat wants to expand its fleet and is moving into a new gear by taking the lead in its new four-ship joint venture with Maran Gas Maritime.

Speaking at the LNG2019 meeting in Shanghai, Nakilat chief executive Abdullah Al-Sulaiti said: “We would love to increase the number of vessels in our fleet.”

He said this could be with its joint venture partner Maran Gas, with whom it has just signed up to a new four-LNG ship partnership Global Shipping Co, or with another joint venture.
