Svitzer Australia has clinched a 10-year contract to provide towage and other marine services to Inpex’s multi-billion dollar Ichthys LNG project in Darwin.
The deal comes with options to extend it up to a maximum of 19 years.
The AP Moller-Maersk company will supply four high-power azimuth stern drive (ASD) tugs, two of which will be newbuildings, to assist LNG, LPG and condensate carriers into and out of port once the shore processing facility is up and running in late 2017.
