Members of the Gard protection and indemnity club are to get a $79m boost from the cancellation of the entire deferred call due for the year to February 2018.
The decision to not collect the premium was made by the mutual’s shipowner directors at a meeting in Geneva this week after they heard there had been a $193m post-tax profit for the year.
