CMA CGM is suing a state-linked Chinese logistics firm, alleging the company lied about the contents of more than 100 containers it left in Hong Kong.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles federal court last week, names CTS International Logistics as the defendant and seeks $1.8m.

The French boxship giant claims that in 2015, it was contracted to bring 260 containers said to be carrying copper ingot and zinc oxide from St Louis, Missouri, to rural Gaolan, China, via New York.
