Stolt-Nielsen's lawyers are defending a settlement deal in the massive litigation over the MSC Flaminia casualty after a chemicals company challenged the terms of the agreement with many cargo interests.
Lawyers for Chemtura, a US chemical company acquired in February by rival Lanxess, argue that Stolt Tank Containers and co-defendant Deltech cannot take up the settled cargo parties' claims and go after other parties.
