Nigerian-backed Nidas Shipping Services is aiming to control a significant owned and chartered tanker fleet focussed on West African cargoes.
Nidas was set up as a joint venture between Nigerian National Petroleum Corp (NNPC), Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and Belgium's Exmar Marine in 2008 to handle the oil company's shipping requirements.
The London-based operation recently fixed two suezmax tankers and three medium-range (MR) products tankers on voyage charters.
