Greece's Livanos group is clearing out its single-hull tankers and is said to have sold two products tankers for demolition.
Brokers say the 39,000-dwt Artemis and Achilleus (both built 1983) have gone "as is" in Singapore for scrapping in Bangladesh at $780 per ldt or $7.5m each. The tankers were two of five that Livanos purchased from ExxonMobil in 2001. Brokers suggested at the time that the Greek owner had paid between $7m and $8m each for the ships.
