US independent Noble Energy has kicked off pre-front-end engineering and design work on LNG production options for its abundant gas resources off Israel. The eventual project could carry a $10 billion price tag.



Rodney Cooke, head of the Houston-based player’s international business, said a “major contractor” is carrying out pre-FEED studies but did not elaborate.
