Ekaterina Rybolovleva, the daughter of business magnate Dmitry Rybolovlev, has acquired the island from Athina Onassis for $100m, according to reports.
Onassis purchased Skorpios, in the Ionian Sea, in 1963. The shipping tycoon planted thousands of trees and imported sand, turning it into a luxury resort.
In 1968, he married Jacqueline Kennedy — widow of assassinated US president John F Kennedy — on the island.
