Ukraine has said Russian seized two bulkers in the Sea of Azov over the weekend as the crisis escalated on land and at sea.
The 35,000-dwt Afina (built 1983) is listed as controlled by Transship, while the 28,200-dwt Princess Nicole (built 1984) is operated by Sea Dynasty. Both companies are based in Odessa.
Their AIS tracks were reported as becoming erratic before ceasing transmission in the early hours of Saturday.
