The London insurance market’s Joint War Committee (JWC) has widened its high-risk areas in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov in response to the growing threat to shipping caused by the Ukraine conflict.

The listed areas now include the Black Sea from the Russia-Ukraine border, across to the Russia-Georgia border and parts of the high seas.

They include all inland waters of Ukraine as well as inland waters of Russia, including the Crimean Peninsula, the River Don from the Sea of Azov to a vertical line at 41 degrees east, and the River Donets from the Don to the Ukrainian border.
