The whole of Russia has been added to the Joint War Committee’s list of dangerous areas as its invasion of Ukraine enters its sixth week.

The group of London insurers made the designation on Monday, which requires shipowners to notify underwriters of voyages to those areas and helps insurers calculate premiums.

The committee, including representatives from the Lloyd’s Market Association and the International Underwriting Association, had previously added the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov to its listed areas in mid-February ahead of the large-scale invasion that began on 24 February.
