Crane barges are offloading 500 containers from an Evergreen Marine container ship that has been grounded off Baltimore for almost a month.

The 12,118-teu Ever Forward (built 2020) ran aground near Chesapeake Bay’s Craighill Channel on 13 March, a year after the chartered-in 20,388-teu Ever Given (built 2018) got wedged in the Suez Canal for six days.

A unified command that includes the US Coast Guard and salvor Donjon-Smit has made two failed attempts to free the ship over the past two weeks while dredging mud from around it.
