Dutch towage group Kotug is expanding into floating production operations with a deal to buy Dubai offshore vessel owner Seaways International.

No price has been given for the transaction, but Kotug will add 13 DPS-2-capable anchor-handling tugs (AHTs), conventional tugs, fast crew boats and cargo barges.

Family-owned Seaways, formed in 1995, specialises in floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel and drilling rig support, as well as subsea construction support and port work.
