Russia's VSK has won a contract to insure an icebreaker newbuilding for RUB 7.4bn ($138.1m).

The Agency of Insurance News reported that the premium for the vessel being built at the Baltiysky Zavod yard is RUB 27.8m.

Ingosstrakh and Sogaz also bid for the business.

A second in the yard's series of three nuclear-powered icebreakers, Sibir, will be launched in autumn 2017.
