Oslo-based shipowner Lorentzen Skibs is concluding another investment, buying a 14-year-old containership.

The company is taking the 1,740-teu Hansa Magdeburg (built 2003) from a German shipowner for a reported $4.7m, market sources say. TradeWinds understands the deal is on subjects.

The Wenchong Shipbuilding-constructed ship was purchased by a company set up by Fearnley Finans, with Lorentzen as managing owner. Equasis lists the Hansa Magdeburg as currently owned by an affiliate of Leonhardt & Blumberg Reederei.
