The surge in tanker orders seen in the first six months of 2017 has eased considerably in the second half of the year, says a top shipbroker.
“In the first half of 2017, 139 tankers above 25,000-dwt had been ordered, double the level for the whole of 2016,” says Gibson Shipbrokers.
“However, ordering activity has slowed down notably over the past few months, with just 37 units ordered since July.
