The Navig8 group is moving quickly on a promise to bolster its VL8 pool as it prepares for the eventual loss of VLCCs from Gener8 Maritime.

Tanker market sources indicate that VL8 is taking in two more VLCCs from current member Navios — the 297,168-dwt Nave Galactic (built 2009) and 298,717-dwt Nave Celeste (built 2003).

The additions come only days after Navig8 chief executive Nicolas Busch promised continued commitment to the pool despite preparations for the eventual loss of 21 of 35 units, likely within the third quarter of 2018.
