Norwegian charterer TGS and compatriot owner Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) have announced a new domestic seismic survey contract.

The new multi-client Barents Sea project, Nansen 3D, will cover about 6,100 sq km in the Hammerfest basin.

The work will start in late May and is due to be completed in September.

"The project is designed to improve the imaging of the known fields and discoveries, and allow identification and development of new targets in both mature and new plays," the companies said.
