John Fredriksen's shipowning vehicle Ship Finance International (SFI) has bought four big boxships backed by long-term charters.

The company is not naming the vessels or the price, but said the 2014-built, 14,000-teu units have deals in place with a leading Asian container line.

The charters run until 2024, with options to extend by 18 months.

The closest matches in the world fleet are five 13,892-teu ships listed as owner by CMA CGM and eight 13,608-teu units owned by NS Lemos.
