Alexander Saverys fuelled a hot debate about the potential damage to shipping from adopting scrubber technology at Posidonia today.
Speaking at the TradeWinds Shipowners Forum, the CMB chief executive said scrubbers were bad for the industry.
“I don’t think the public opinion will appreciate we are taking the sulphur from the air and just putting it into the ocean,” he said.
