German owner FH Bertling has locked in its 81,000-dwt bulker Istria (built 2013) into a 11 to 13-month charter to Cerraghil with delivery in Japan.
The rate is $11,000 per day, in line with the average spot rate for panamaxes. Bertling bought the ship in July 2016 for $13m and the ship is now probably worth $18m. The company has a fleet of 14 ships, most of them handysize bulkers.
