The European Investment Bank (EIB) is launching a EUR 150m ($160.6m) investment plan to finance green shipping in cooperation with ABN AMRO.
The two banks are expected to put pen to paper today for the new framework supported by the “Connecting Europe Facility”.
Pim van Ballekom, vice-president of EIB, said: "The bank received a clear signal from the market that there was a financing gap for the greening of shipping fleets."
