Containership owners are making a last-minute dash to fit their vessels with scrubbers.
About 9% of global containership capacity — or 243 vessels with total capacity of 2.07m teu — have been fitted with scrubbers, said Bloomberg citing Alphaliner data.
That is a 15% higher than the tally of 212 units with a combined capacity of 1.79m cited in early December.
