Wilmar International is expanding its growing fleet with an order for up to four medium-range (MR) tanker newbuildings.
Market sources said the Singapore-based outfit has commissioned South Korea's Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering to construct two 50,000-dwt product carriers. The deal includes options for two more ships.
The shipowner is said to be paying between $33m and $34m each for the conventional, scrubber-free tanker newbuildings.
