Some boxship owners may fall off the radar this year as Covid-19 continues to hurt global demand for shipped goods to the tune of billions of dollars.

TradeWinds two weeks ago reported that the sector may miss out on $23.4bn in revenue for 2020 amid a slew of voyage cancellations, according to container analyst Sea-Intelligence.

The virus has caused blank sailings to spike so far this year while idle capacity has reached a 10-year high of 10%, according to investment bank Stifel.
