Fednav is reorganising its businesses under a single business unit in order to better align its commercial and technical divisions.

The Montreal-headquartered bulker's overhaul will merge its chartering and operations teams with its shipowning, technical and Arctic units. The privately-owned company has been operating them separately for the past 30 years.

Speaking to TradeWinds, Fednav president and chief executive Paul Pathy said the combined group will focus on improved commercial efficiency and providing the best possible service to customers.
