Finland's ESL Shipping has bunkered one of its LNG-fuelled bulk carriers with renewable liquefied biogas (LBG).
In a test operation Gasum supplied LNG and one tanker of LBG to the 25,600-dwt Viikki (built 2018), which is being used to transport iron ore for Swedish steel company SSAB, at Raahe in Finland.
The LBG was brought in from Gasum's terminal at Pori.
