Hyundai Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME)'s merger is unlikely to receive global approval this year, according to Nomura.
The two South Korean shipbuilding giants' proposal was cleared by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) last week.
Following its assessment, the CCCS concluded the merger would not result in a substantial lessening of competition.
