Diana Shipping locks bulker into year charter with NYK Line as period rates rise

Diana Shipping has locked a capesize bulker into a deal with NYK Line for more than a year at a rate that beats rising assessments for period charters.

The New York-listed owner of 40 bulkers, including 13 capesizes, has entered into a time charter with the Japanese shipping giant for the 180,960-dwt New Orleans (built 2015) at $15,500 per day.
