Eagle Bulk has confirmed that one of its ultramax bulkers that was boarded by pirates off Ghana has been released and the crew unharmed.

The 63,301-dwt Rowayton Eagle (built 2013) was attacked some 200 nautical miles (370km) off the coast of Accra on Sunday.

“We advise that the hijacking of bulk carrier Rowayton Eagle in the Gulf of Guinea has been resolved and the crew are safe and unharmed with no hostages taken,” Eagle Bulk told TradeWinds.
