German shipbuilder Pella Sietas has landed its biggest contract in the shape of a €100m ($111m) Russian icebreaker.

The yard said Icebreaker7 will be 120 metres long and is part of the Russian fleet modernisation programme.

It will have fire-fighting, sea rescue and deck cargo transport capacity.

The newbuilding was ordered by Russia's Pella Shipyard on behalf of end user Rosmorport, the state maritime agency.
