Norwegian shipowner DOF Group has offloaded two unwanted offshore vessels as it works to secure a $2bn refinancing deal with banks and bondholders.

The company revealed during its second quarter webcast that the 21,600-bhp large anchor-handling tug supply unit Skandi Admiral (built 1999) and the 70-loa support ship Geograph (built 2008) were sold for scrap. Prices were not revealed.

Chief executive Mons Aase said: "We've sold a few boats since last year."
