Robert Kuok-backed PaxOcean Group has won a newbuilding order from Japan’s Penta-Ocean Construction Co for a windfarm installation vessel in a deal worth JPY 18.5bn ($172m).

The self-elevating platform (SEP) is due to be delivered in the third quarter of 2022 from PaxOcean’s facility in Batam, Indonesia.

The GustoMSC-designed vessel will be equipped with four tubular legs and four azimuth thrusters, PaxOcean said in a statement.
