Icelandic container line Eimskip is bidding to build and operate a ro-pax for the state.
It has submitted an offer in a public tender for a new Westman Islands car and passenger ferry.
The vessel needs to be delivered in the middle of 2018 and the company would then operate it until 2030.
Eimskip has offered in for the business at between ISK 8.1bn
