The seventh annual Sailors' Society ING wine-tasting evening saw about 50 budding oenophiles taken through the finer points of eight different vintages entirely produced by women.

Wine enthusiast Lindsay Cornelissen taught guests about the properties of her selection, including some from the Donatella Cinelli Colombini in Tuscany — an operation run, owned and managed by women only.

Other tipples came from French producer Stephanie Fumoso, who heads the organisation of female winemakers in the Rhone, Femmes Vignes Rhone.
