Increased imports helped drive a 4.3% increase in container throughput at the US Port of Tacoma, latest figures show.
The port handled 117,793-teu in April as the volume of inbound containers increased 15% year-on-year to 39,121-teu
International volumes were up 8.5% on a year ago to 68.456-teu, while domestic volumes – those from Alaska and Hawaii – were up 3.5% to 38,517-teu.
