Two environmental lobby groups have complained that their views have been ignored in a new compromise proposal at the International Maritime Organization aimed at reducing shipping’s greenhouse gas emissions.
In a letter to IMO secretary general Kitack Lim and United Nations secretary general Antonio Guterres, green groups Pacific Environment and Clean Shipping Coalition (CSC) said that their “technically well grounded” proposals had not been considered.
