The ship recycling business in India has fallen by nearly 30% from previous years, a major industry player told TradeWinds.
The dip in business has forced yard closures, and not all are operating at full capacity out of the functioning ones, said Gaurav Mehta, a director at Priya Blue, a leading cash buyer and ship recycler based out of Alang, India.
