Singapore has restructured its maritime and aviation accident investigations into a new combined unit, the Ministry of Transport (MOT).
The establishment of the new Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB) follows similar set-ups in the UK, US, Australia and Japan.
“The TSIB will conduct investigations into air and marine accidents and incidents, independently of and separately from any judicial or regulatory proceedings, and make recommendations to enhance the safety of air and sea transport,” the MOT said.
