Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard has won a new contract to convert an LNG carrier to a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).

The FSRU will be capable of regasifying up to 750 million metric standard cubic feet of natural gas per day, and is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2018.

The buyer remained unspecified by the shipyard, referred to as a “leading global operator of oil and gas production vessels."
