Ship operators are unwilling to commit to early offerings of green methanol because of the high costs for first-movers, according to leading manufacturer Proman.
CEO David Cassidy told a conference in Dubai that it is building a plant in Canada that will produce green methanol from 2026, but early market feelers have suggested nobody is yet prepared to jump in with long-term deals at the price needed to cover costs.
