The Scorpio group will fit scrubbers on 146 of the owned and lease-financed vessels in the fleets of public companies Scorpio Tankers and Scorpio Bulkers.
The group expects between 60 and 70 percent of the cost to be paid through financing, the two companies said in announcements after market close in New York today.
The commitments leave only 19 tankers within Scorpio Tankers unspoken for as to exhaust modifications.
