An elderly suezmax tanker has been arrested in Singapore by the ship’s crew over outstanding wages, TradeWinds has learnt.

Twenty-four crew aboard the 153,000-dwt Ambassador (built 1997) claim they are owed $300,000 by the vessel’s owner, according to court documents.

The identity of the owner was not disclosed, but is said to be Cyprus-based Transland Bulk Carriers, according to VesselsValue.

The Cyprus-flagged crude tanker was detained late last week by local law firm Gurbani & Co LLC who are acting for the mixture of Russian, Georgian and Ukrainian crew.
