Shipowner Euronav is to build its newly contracted VLCCs as LNG-ready and is working to add an ammonia-ready notation to the order in a pioneering move for the large tanker sector.

Euronav — which said in February that it was working on an ammonia-ready notation for suezmax tonnage — is in discussions with shipbuilder Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and classification society Lloyd's Register on the new notation.
