George Economou has launched a takeover bid for Greek tanker owner Performance Shipping after taking a stake in August.
The TMS Group supremo was highly critical of the US-listed firm’s management when he became an investor.
The takeover offer could see him gain full control, change the management, remove the board and sell off all or some of the ships, a securities filing has revealed.
