General National Maritime Transport Co (GNMTC) has acquired more modern tankers just a few weeks after acquiring an aframax newbuilding from Greece’s Ionic Shipping.
Shipping market sources said the Libyan state company has purchased the 114,000-dwt LR2 product carriers FSL Fos and FSL Suez (both built 2021).
Its role as the ships' buyer emerged as Singapore-based shipowner First Ship Lease Trust (FSL Trust) announced selling the vessels on Wednesday.
