Norway’s Klaveness Combination Carriers (KCC) is lining up $7m of retrofits to improve the energy efficiency of two of its modern vessels.
The work includes installation of air lubrication system and shaft generators, the Oslo-listed company said.
And the contracts include options for carrying out the same work on a further nine combination carriers.
Norwegian state energy transition agency Enova is offsetting $1m of the cost through a grant.
