Japan’s Kyoei Tanker says it has ordered a single VLCC newbuilding at compatriot Namura Shipbuilding.
The Tokyo-listed shipowner said it expected to take delivery of the ship by August 2019. No financial details were disclosed.
“We will refrain from disclosing the acquisition price due to confidentiality obligations with business partners,” Kyoei Tanker said.
The shipowner said the 310,300-dwt tanker had been ordered to strengthen its business by expanding its fleet composition.
