The world’s largest shipbroker on Friday lifted its assessment on a 320,000-dwt tanker from $99.5m to $100m after 889 days in eight figure territory.

Its latest weekly report shows the value of a new VLCC is up 5.5% during the past three months.

The last time Clarksons valued a fresh VLCC at $100m was 217 weeks ago on 28 October 2011.

On Friday TradeWinds reported two ships reported by Navig8 Crude Tankers at Hyundai Heavy Industries were the first to pass $100m in the orders run started last autumn.
